JV Game 6 - Jefferson (4) @ North Oconee (8)

In their 2nd game on the road this week, on Saturday, at North Oconee, the Jefferson Dragons faced-off against the Titans JV squad this time.  In a game that, after the 1st inning was virtually controlled by pitching, the Dragons took their first loss of the season as they fell to the Titans by a score of 8-4.  Jefferson once again, jumped on the Titans quickly as they scored 3 runs in the 1st inning that included a lead-off single by #20 Justin Cole followed by an RBI single by #12 Terrell Wall.  #24 Carter Evans, also added support with an RBI single in the 1st as well.  The Dragons only other run came in the 2nd following a lead-off single by #5 Brandon Trefren which resulted in a run scored on an RBI ground out by Cole.  #10 Joshua Hutch took the mound to for the Dragons to start and recorded 3 innings of work recording 5 Ks.  The Titans managed 8 runs and 5 hits with all 5 hits coming in the 1st inning.  After that, Hutch battled back to shut down the Titans in the 2nd and just 1 run allowed in the 3rd.  #24 Jonathan Ray (J-Ray) came on in relief in the 4th and kept the Titans quite in the rest of the way.  In 3 innings of work, J-Ray also recorded 5Ks and allowing 0 hits and 0 runs.  The Dragons now stand at 4-1-1 for the season.  This coming week they look to head to Toccoa to take on Stephens County on Monday and then host Oconee on Tuesday and Banks County on Thursday.  Come out and support our Dragons this week!
