JV Game 3 - Jefferson (9) @ Hart County (4)

On a chilly Friday evening, the Jefferson Dragons JV Squad hit the road to take on the Bulldogs of Hart County.  Jefferson dominated most of the game leading by as much as 7 runs at one point and took their 2nd win of the season by a score of 9-4 over the Bulldogs.  #15 Patrick Hickox took to the mound for his first start of the season for the Dragons.  Patrick dominated the Bulldogs for most his 4 1/3 innings of work, recording 5 Ks, and giving up just 3 hits and 2 runs that didn't come until the 5th.  #24 Carter Evans came in relief in the 5th and recording 2 Ks in 1 inning of work.  #8 Chaz Evans closed out the game on hill for the Dragons in 1 2/3 recording 1 K with 2 runs scored.  Key plays on defense included base runner thrown out stealing 2nd by #16 Brandon Clinton in the 5th, to slow down a Bulldog rally and a leaping grab for an out by shortstop, #6 Kasan Rainey with two runners on preventing a rally in the 6th.  On offense, #7 Clayton Jones led the way in RBI production going 1-for-2 with 2 RBI including 1 off a Sac Fly in the 7th.  Carter Evans went 1-for-3 with an RBI, #20 Justin Cole was 1-for-4 with 1 RBI off a Double in the 6th, and Kasan Rainey was 1-for-2 with an RBI Single in the 4th.  The Dragons now stand at 2-0-1 for the season.  This week they hit the road to play at East Jackson on Tuesday and at Madison County on Thursday.
