The Jefferson Dragons JV team traveled to Franklin County on Thursday for a game with the Lions. Jefferson jumped on the board first in this game, but in the end were unable to hold off the offense of Franklin County, resulting in a 9-3 loss, and the Dragons 2nd loss of the season. As previously mentioned, the Dragons jumped on the board first in the 1st inning. #5 Sammy Elegreet (1-for-4) led the inning off with a single, followed by a single by #7 Clayton Jones (1-for-3). #8 Brandon Trefren (0-for-3 RBI) then drove a RBI grounder to 2nd allowing Elegreet to score, which was then followed by a RBI double by #18 Vinny Farley (2-for-3 2B RBI). This gave the Dragons an early 2-0 lead. Jefferson's only other run came in the 4th. With just 1 out, Jefferson loaded the bases on 3 straight hits from Farley, #11 Brandon Clinton (1-for-3), and #15 Ryan Godfrey (1-for-3). Farley then scored on a RBI single by #6 Billy Finch (1-for-2 RBI). That was all the Dragons could muster, however.
On the mound for Jefferson, #8 Brandon Trefren got the start. Trefren recorded 4 1/3 innings of work, recording 2 Ks and allowing 7 runs on 8 hits. #14 Tate Bennett came on in relief. Bennett pitched 2 2/3 innings, recording 2 Ks and allowing 2 runs on 3 hits.
Following this game, Jefferson stands at 5-2-1 for the season
